Our Story

Miguel and Angela met back in 2015. They quickly became best friends since they are both very passionate about God, people, justice and tons of sarcasm and, naturally, got married in February 2018.

They've had the blessing of serving together since 2015, work together since 2018 and started THIS IS VIDA in 2020, in the mist of a world pandemic.

They've always aspire to work with excelence, humility and passion. They love loving on people. You can be sure that Ang will make you feel welcome while Miguel makes you laugh.

(There is a guaranteed $10 if you talk to Miguel and he doesn't crack a joke. You might not laugh, but he will try.)

Hey there! My name is Angela!

I would love to take a moment to introduce myself. I have been in full-time ministry for the last 14 years, ten of those years were spent in Guatemala. I have had the opportunity to serve around the world, in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas. From being a participant to leading groups with 100+ participants,

I've had the opportunity to do a little bit of everything. At the end of the day, I have the joy of sharing the Hope of Jesus with everyone I meet because at one point I was very lost and Jesus came to give me that hope. I will always say I have the best job and one of the hardest jobs, I love what I get to do but it doesn't come without its challenges. As a quiet introvert, who is also a recovering perfectionist, I've had to work to do this job to the best of my abilities, some days feel pretty easy but there are other days that the struggle is real. With the many gifts that the Lord has blessed me with, there are still things I have to work on and that is truly a blessing.

I am so excited for the opportunity to come alongside those who are sharing the Gospel around the world!

Hello there, My name is Miguel.

I’ve been saved since April 2015 and have been in full-time ministry. I’ve had the amazing opportunity to serve my own people in Guatemala in many different ways—from teaching the Bible to children to delivering fuel-efficient stoves, and most recently, spending my days sharing the Gospel and building friendships with the most amazing people from a small Mayan village.

I have a heart for justice, I’m very outgoing, and I love teaching and speaking to people about the Gospel and culture. I’m not afraid to debate, as long as we hug it out at the end.

I became very bold the day God found me. That boldness has led me to make plenty of mistakes—saying the wrong thing to the wrong person at the wrong time more times than I can count. I thought I was a blessing when, in reality, I was an obstacle more than once. I’ve also struggled with depression and anxiety and have sought therapy to work through it. My sense of humor knows no boundaries, ranging from dad jokes to things I’d never dare post here.

I am passionate about growth, thriving, and understanding our God-given sonship—because no one can take that away from us.

I am not an ideal leader. I’m not everyone’s cup of tea.

But one thing is certain: I’ll hold your hand until you can walk on your own, just like our Father does.

But you can be sure I’ll hold your hand until you can walk on your own, just like our Father does.
